How to Populate Sysdate in a Reconfirm Field

Hi,

I have one decision step in my Request type where when i leave that step i need to reconfirm a date field with the sysdate.

Problem is when i leave the decision step i need to update that field with the sysdate.

we know that we cannot call the function before we reconfirm the field.

How we can handle it..??

Thanks,
Prabu

Re: How to Populate Sysdate in a Reconfirm Field

I hope you mean to say when you move out of the decision step you want to fill sysdate in a field.

After the decision step create a command execution step.

ksc_store REQ.P.YOUR_DATE_TOKEN_HERE = "[SYS.ITG_TIME_STAMP]","[SYS.ITG_TIME_STAMP]"

If the field in detail use REQD. instead of REQ.

Re: How to Populate Sysdate in a Reconfirm Field

Hi Prabu,

If you're using 7.5 you can also trigger a "Apply before transition" rule to set a timestamp in a request field. The rule is processed and the target field is updated before the transition is taken.

Hope this helps.

Re: How to Populate Sysdate in a Reconfirm Field

hI,

I have tried, it is not possible to have an execution step before a reconfirm step(intermediate Step) .
A reconfirm Step should follow a decision step.

Let me know is there any other way to handle it.

thanks

Re: How to Populate Sysdate in a Reconfirm Field

Hi Erik,

Yes we are on 7.5 SP2 , we tried out that, but we were not able to achieve it.

CAn we please give us a sample, how to write a rule for before transition .

thanks,

Re: How to Populate Sysdate in a Reconfirm Field

It probably won't work until you patch to SP3 or later - there are several bugs in advanced rules in pre-SP3 versions, but I have included a sample pic of how you might config it. Trigger on the "before transition" event and set the dependency to be the status you're leaving (or use similar logic so it doesn't update the date on every transition) and it should work.

Thanks for this old post! I never knew this functionality existed. I'll use it now!

//Add this to "OnDomLoad" event
