How do I reset the Package numbers in Deployment number

We installed a fresh HPPM instance version 9.3. In order to start fresh, we would like to start our Kintana package numbers at 50,000. How do we set the package numbers?

FIrst we would like to set it to 49000, then when we are ready to go live, we set it to 50000.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ned,

I assume

you would need to increment the sequence while PPM is down.

KDLV_PACKAGES_S

this is the sequence for packages that is eventually stored in KDLV_PACKAGES.PACKAGE_ID

for package line

KDLV_PACKAGE_LINES_S

eventually stored in KDLV_PACKAGE_LINES.PACKAGE_LINE_ID

You would need to test, as it is not something usually supported.

Best regards,

Chris

Thanks Chris,

Sorry I was not able to read the reply right away.  As I don't think there is a 'create or replace', do we drop and recereate the sequence? I'm afraid of the integrity issues if I drop, I only have one PPM instance so far.

Since the sequences already exist, we can just...alter sequence, right?

Thanks.

Re: How do I reset the Package numbers in Deployment number

Hi Ned,

get the value for (49000 - current value for KDLV_PACKAGES_S) = incVal

--alter the sequence to increment by the difference found above (IncVal).
alter sequence KDLV_PACKAGES_S increment by incVal
--Increment the sequence value 1 time.
select KDLV_PACKAGES_S.nextval from dual;
--reset increment value to the original value
alter sequence KDLV_PACKAGES_S increment by 1;

Best regards,
Chris
