How do I make the activity code field mandatory in the workplan task

Hi,

can anyone please tell me; if we can make a PPM OOTB field mandatory by configuring the UI? if yes, how? e.g we want to make the activity field in the workplan template mandatory.

Re: How do I make the activity code field mandatory in the workplan task

I don't think RT UI Rules will work in Task page, It is only applicable to Request fields.

There is no way to make the 'Activity ID' mandatory in Task page.

If you find any workaround, Kindly share with us.

Thank you.

You can have activities mandatory in time sheets for projects/tasks though. Are you using time management to capture actuals for the project in question?

Are you sure that we can make the activity for Task Details mandatory.

No, you cannot do that, but by adjusting the time sheet policy you can "force" the projects' participants to select an activity when entering actuals for these tasks in their time sheets.
Depending on the reason for your requirement this may be close to what you want.

Thanks for your response. we tried that; but that makes mandatory for all request types. we want only for our SDLC request types where we have assigned a specific workplan
