Handling Offshoring capacity with HP-PPM

Hello All !

To increase our development capacity we use contractors, who provide a certain capacity to us.

For example we get 1000 Persondays/Month.

This capacities are used for certain tasks from various projects, but the real workers are not known to us.

Unnamed Headcount looked appealing, but we cannot asign tasks.

Has anyone else solved the problem to control the usage of the contracted capacity with HP-PPM and can share their insights with me ?

many thanks in advance

Re: Handling Offshoring capacity with HP-PPM

Hi Ferdinand,

We define contracter as a real resource but they haven't got any licence and security. But they are assigned a Resource Pool. We can assign them to project tasks. Because of them virtual, their actuals are entered  by Project Manager (manually not from Time Sheet).

Resource Pool manager could be any one. You can assign them to only one Resource Pool or seperate them to which Resource Manager use them. It's depends on you.

Re: Handling Offshoring capacity with HP-PPM

Hi Celil,
thank you for responding.
Do you mean, we should enter the to us unknown Workers as Resources like "Contractor1", "Contractor2"..."Contractor100".
Or is there another way for such "Bulk-Capacities".

Re: Handling Offshoring capacity with HP-PPM

It depend on you: Do you want to follow their capacity one by one OR company by company OR all in one. We use one by one. Even you want to use all in one you must assign it to on of resource pool.
