Do you have a solution to this issue? We are experiencing the same problem

Re: Error startup PPM

The name here:
com.kintana.core.server.RMI_URL=rmi://server:1099/KintanaServer

Is server? Or you have substituted the name of the actual server?

In either case I would say it sounds like your network can't find the name you are using to address that server. It sounds like a DNS issue or maybe the server isn't up.

Try com.kintana.core.server.RMI_URL=rmi://localhost:1099/KintanaServer
or
com.kintana.core.server.RMI_URL=rmi://127.0.0.1:1099/KintanaServer

As a temporary fix to see if this is indeed the issue.

Re: Error startup PPM

It turns out that the oracle DB password had expired. We "hacked" into it and PPM is back up. We need to change the parameter that restricts the Oracle DB password expiration.

Re: Error startup PPM

Hi adriano,

You can not comment "com.kintana.core.server.RMI_URL" in server.conf file.

You may be getting this error because of following reason :
1.Your RMI port is already in used.
2.Your DNS(server name) is not getting resolved,in this case try to use IP address of host rather than using server name.
3.It may be that you are trying to connect to server or IP in VPN so not able to reach to that ip and port.

After confirming these things ,

Run -updatehtml and start command it shuold work.

Re: Error startup PPM

HI all,

we fixed the issue adding the alias PPM server to the host file.

(it was a dns issue).
