Entity Restrictions in Request Types and Workflows

Hi All,

1. I am in 7.5. In a request type, there is a Workflows tab in which you can limit the specific workflows to be used for the request type. I set a specific workflow for a request type but it doesn't seem to restrict anything in the workflow field for the request type; does anyone know how to validate this?

2. In a request workflow, there is the "Allowe Request Types" tab. Does anyone know what this is for and how can you validate the result?

Thanks,

Frank

Re: Entity Restrictions in Request Types and Workflows

hi frank,

I usually restrict the "workflow" field in the request type and I create a rule to apply on creation in order to select the desired workflow.

attention: do no use simple rule since it may be lost if you migrate to another system.

cheers

Re: Entity Restrictions in Request Types and Workflows

I have not extensively used the Workflow Tab in Request Type and 'Allow RT' tab of workflow.

But if you want the request to follow a single Workflow we use a 'Apply on Creation' rule with Advanced Defaults.

The SQL may be like the one below.

Select Workflow_id, Workflow_name from kwfl_workflows where workflow_name='your WF Name'
