We have a PPM cluster with 4 PPM nodes located on 2 servers.
Server A - 1 server node and 1 user nodeServer B - 2 user nodes
We use Load Balancer for users to use both servers.
We will apply new PPM license file for each server.
Should the license counts between those two license files be exact same?
If not same, for example, the Demand Management license for server A is 500 and for server B is 502.
Can we load these two license files to a PPM cluster? Is there any side impact? Judy
If more licenses are active than a server's license file allows, the nodes on that server will refuse to start.
Why would you want to run nodes with different license counts? When we request new license files for production, we specify the IP addresses for all servers that run nodes for that instance.
We have two servers in this cluster. For each server, we need to apply seperate license files since one license file can only have one licensed IP.
For example, for the whole cluster, we need total 1000 licenses for Demand Management. How should we apply?
Option #1: to apply two license files, each license has 500 licenses;
Option #2: to apply two license files, each license has 1000 licenses.
Which option should we go?
When you ask for the License to the support representative, you need to mention that this is for a cluster environment.
They will give you the correct count, which i think should be the same number for both license.conf
Again, when requesting license for a cluster, just mention that it is for a two server cluster.
