Default Value for Drop-down autocomplete multi selection

Hi,

We have defined a field which is drop-down auto complete list and multi selection is enabled. We would like to set default value for this field. But, unfortunately we can not set this field more than one value (attachment: field_default ). Then, we tried to set defaults on the validation. We select the value to set default on validation page. But, default check box field is not editable on this page (attachment: validation_default).

Is there any way to set more than one value as default for drop-down auto complete multi selection enabled field?

Thanks

Regards.

Re: Default Value for Drop-down autocomplete multi selection

Hi,

as a workaround, you can populate the field with a custom SQL Query in a rule of type Apply on Creation.

cheers

Re: Default Value for Drop-down autocomplete multi selection

Hi Zoza,

If you want to go validation way... then follow these steps:

  1. Create a new validation ZTAC_REQ_IM_LIST_SQL with Drop-down list and SQL... and use this as SQL

    SELECT lookup_code , meaning FROM knta_lookups

    WHERE lookup_type = 'ZTAC_REQ_IM_LIST' and enabled_flag = 'Y'
    order by meaning

  2. Next is in your field use the validation ZTAC_REQ_IM_LIST_SQL

  3. Then go to "Default" tab.. go to constant then at "CONSTANT" field put this value as

    <VISIBALE_VALUE 1>#@#<VISIBLE_VALUE 2>

Note: here visible_value is you list value that you want in the default

Cheers..

Re: Default Value for Drop-down autocomplete multi selection

Hi!

We have create an auto-complete and multiselection type filed that shows a list as a result of a SQL query.

Users are going to select a lot of values for this field (around 50 or sometimes more!). The problem is that as far as I know in an auto-complete field you have to select one by one all the values you want to select.

Is it possible to do a "select all" and then if you want take out some of them?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Re: Default Value for Drop-down autocomplete multi selection

Hi,

We have found an easy way to do this... use "Shift" button of the keyboard as in a spreadsheet.

Sorry for the easy question :)
