Custom report running for longer time than usual

Hi team,

We are using HP PPM 7.5 SP6, and have a custom built report for Financial data. this report was running fine until last week and there is sudden drop in performance and is taking longer time than usual to create the HTML report. Please reply back if anyone have encountered similar issue before and the solution to it, if already fixed.

Thanks

Bharath

Re: Custom report running for longer time than usual

We have had portlets that oscillated between decent and bad performance based on the methods Oracle decided to use to scan the table. We have had to tune Oracle's behavior on certain tables to encourage it to use the indexes effectively in those cases. We have also had to increase Oracle's SGA Target configuration parameter to give it the space it needs to retain its working tables. Work with your DBA to analyze the various reports that Oracle can run to see how it is satisfying your queries.

Re: Custom report running for longer time than usual

hello Jim,

other observation done is, we have load balanced servers and this is happening with only one node. Node A does not have any problem in running reports, however when you relogin or re-instate to Node B this issue occurs.

Need to know on the approach to resolve this issue with Node using same DB details.

Re: Custom report running for longer time than usual

If only one of two nodes has a performance problem, something is happening with that node. Are the two nodes running on the same server or different servers? Are services running on both nodes or are they limited to just one node?
