Compare Scheduled Start Date to Scheduled Finish Date

PPM 7.1 SP7 - I would like to compare the scheduled start date to the scheduled finish date to make sure that the scheduled finish date occurs after the scheduled start date. Is there a way to do this in a rule? I would like to verify the dates prior to the request being submitted.

Re: Compare Scheduled Start Date to Scheduled Finish Date

Both fields can be reffered with their token:

[PRJ.SCHEDULED_START_DATE] and
[PRJ.SCHEDULED_FINISH_DATE]

so based on an project workflow (or in a request form) you are able to use this token for calucation:

[PRJ="30001".SCHEDULED_START_DATE]-[PRJ=""30002".SCHEDULED_START_DATE]

keep in mind, that a project is handled as a task, too

so

[TSK="30001".SCHEDULED_START_DATE]-[TSK=""30002".SCHEDULED_START_DATE]

should be the same

Re: Compare Scheduled Start Date to Scheduled Finish Date

Hi
For example you may add to request header type field group â PFM-Projectâ and use following fields
- Planned Start Period
- Planned Finish Period
Then PPM allow set the scheduled finish date occurs after the scheduled start date.

Re: Compare Scheduled Start Date to Scheduled Finish Date

Hi Christie, its possible in PPM 7.5. See DemandCG.pdf(for 7.5) page 179. It is possible if to apply a rule with the message which after check returns ' false ' and does not allow to create request
Good luck.
