Can we select multilevel Hierarchical Selection for a validation.

Hi All,

Hierarchical Selection for a validation new feature of 9.12.

Can anyone help me to select multilevel Hierarchical Selection for a validation. Currently we are using PPM9.12 version.

PFA screenshot provided by HP, but it's showing only one level of hierarchy of values.

Thanks in advance

Puneet

Looks like there is a flaw in the process that built the link to the knowledge base article in Alex's post. Strip the trailing period from the URL to get the article.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your helpful document.

But in this they are not showing that we can use multilevel hierarchy selection for a validation or not. It's again showing a single level of hierarchy as I attached the screen shot with my first post.

Re: Can we select multilevel Hierarchical Selection for a validation.

Hi, Puneet,

based on this document I was able to create a hierarchical validation from the organizational structure which has 4 levels in this case - actually the KM document was created after I had an intense discussion with HP Support on the fact that HP did not document this feature properly in the documentation.

Unfortunately, I cannot post here the real data, but I created a sample for you:

I also edited the previous post to remove the period from the hyperlink (thanks, Jim!)

cheers

Re: Can we select multilevel Hierarchical Selection for a validation.

Hello guys

Now I've met with the same issue too

I'm trying to create Hierarchical Selection basing on Release notes for PPM 9.13

If I'm using sample given in doc - it works well

If I'm trying to do my own validation - it gives "no data to display"

I need Hierarchical Selection for Organization structure

There is the query for Hierarchical Display Tab:

select
kou.org_unit_id id,
kou.parent_org_unit_id parentId,
decode(sign((select count(ou.org_unit_id) from krsc_org_units ou where ou.enabled_flag='Y' and ou.parent_org_unit_id=kou.org_unit_id)),1,'Y','N') isFolder,
kou.org_unit_name name,
kou.manager_id manager,
kou.org_unit_name description
from krsc_org_units kou
where kou.enabled_flag='Y' and NVL(kou.parent_org_unit_id, 0) = :parentId

Query for Configuration tab is:

select
kou.org_unit_id id,
kou.parent_org_unit_id parentId,
decode(sign((select count(ou.org_unit_id) from krsc_org_units ou where ou.enabled_flag='Y' and ou.parent_org_unit_id=kou.org_unit_id)),1,'Y','N') isFolder,
kou.org_unit_name name,
kou.manager_id manager,
kou.org_unit_name description
from krsc_org_units kou
where kou.enabled_flag='Y'

Re: Can we select multilevel Hierarchical Selection for a validation.

I've found the problem
It did not work because parent_org_unit_id for top-level org_units is -1.
So, to solve it I've implemented decode(parent_org_unit_id , -1, 0, parent_org_unit_id)
//Add this to "OnDomLoad" event
