Can we run the 'tm_work_units_912_1.sql' in 7.5?

While running the SP2 after the PPM 9.1 Upgrade we came across an issue that the 'tm_work_units_912_1.sql' is running for more than 2 hours.Inorder to have it run more faster, can we run the tm_work_units_912_1.sql' which comes with the PPM 9.11 SP2 in PPM 7.5 SP7 so that when we do an upgrade on the production we can save a lot of time.

Hi,

PPM 8.0 and 9.1 version upgrade makes many changes around the way the Working details within Time Management module stores the information. I would suggest to let it run in the sequence that script does. Don't run tm_work_units_912_SQL in 7.5 version.

Hi Niraj,

We did run the 'tm_work_units_912_SQL'  during the deploy of SP2 only but it was running for more than 4 hours. We then found the error in the HP Code and corrected the code to make it run within 40 minutes.

We have successfully deployed the Service pack2.

We ran into this issue while running the 9.1 upgrade a couple months back. We actually rewrote the HP script to perform the exact same update but used a cursor instead. If I remember right, it complete in under 10 seconds.

This week while applying SP2, we hit the same issue with the HP script. We let it run since most most of the Project Type records were updated as part of the 9.1 upgrade, and it completed successfully in about 5 minutes - we didn't have to use our version for SP2.

Thanks,

Jamie
