Can Task be defaulted to Active or Ready upon project creation?
We recently upgraded from 7.5 to PPM 9.12.
We had a working process to create projects, even though we do not use Tasks in Project. This is for Time Management, tracking time. After the upgrade, I started getting questions from users like this: "Can you think of a reason that a project I created this morning does not show up in time tracking?" As it turns out, as several of you folks have advised me, the task was not active (thanks for the tip!)
I explained all this to the user, and their question back to me is:
What changed within Projects when we upgraded to 9.12 that sets the Task to inactive or not ready?
And: Can Task be defaulted to Active or Ready upon project creation?
Re: Can Task be defaulted to Active or Ready upon project creation?
PPM changes the status of the tasks to Active or Ready ONLY when you change the work plan status to Active.
We usually implement an automatic step to check the status of the work plan and to route the workflow back to the PM if he did not activate the workplan. Sometimes we also implement an automatic step to change the status of the work plan.
