Batch Number In Request Types

Hello,

We have a requirement where we need 15 text fields all 4000 characters, Some HyperLinks to documents on internal drives which excede 200 characters( Thus they need to be 4000 characters too).

I have already increased the batch number to '3' while we still have a lot of the other field ( as length 200 characters) vacant.

Does Anyone have a better soluion for handling this. Is there any disadvantage of maintaing many batch numbers for one type.

Thanks for your help

Re: Batch Number In Request Types

Hello Lizabeth,

You will be perfectly fine and you are following the correct way. As far as you are increasing the batch number by increasing the number of fields on a request type out-of-the-box (and no customizations for increasing the batch number) then it will be fine.

Also, you won't have a lot of other fields vacant, because in the database it will store only those fields information that you are using. The reason is there are finally only 50 parameters. Its the same 50 parameters used when you increase the batch or the number of fields you want to use. So even if you increase number of fields to say 300, it will be only the batch id that is increased in the system, but the number of columns used in the system will still always remain as 50 only. So using batch numbers will be perfectly fine without adding any additional overhead on the application.
