Automatic request referencing

Hi all,

In 7.5, is there a special command that can be used to automatically associate a new request with an existing request (or an existing project) as part of a workflow (as opposed to manually linking the two requests under References) ? I had a browse through the list of commands and nothing stands out. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Re: Automatic request referencing

As a part of workflow execution step, you can create a new copy request or a new Project.

When the new request or project is created the association happens automatically.

I am not sure how to make linkage automatically with the existing 2 requests.

Re: Automatic request referencing

Hi,

I have never heard about a special command just for referencing requests.
The command ksc_copy_requests can copy a request and make a reference between to original request and the copied request.

However I solved this issue with a customized db function.

Re: Automatic request referencing

Hi,

A custom function will be able to do the requirement. You will be required to add two rows in the KNTA_REFERENCES table for this in case you opt to use custom function.

Even i have never seen a command for the same.

Thanks

Re: Automatic request referencing

Thanks for your replies everyone. Looks like triggering a custom function in the workflow may be the only way to go.
