Automatic refresh of auto complete list

Hello,

i have the following problem by using a sql-based auto complete list:

The auto complete list field using a sql to get data from a specific table.

When the content of this table in the db is changed, the auto complete list field doesn't know of this change.

Is there any way to refresh this field automatically?

Hi Sacha,

are you updating table data from within PPM (e.g. adding new requests) or by making SQL inserts directly in DB? If you do it directly in DB, try running C:\ITG\bin\kRunCacheManager.sh after changes to DB. If you are not sure which option to choose - use A option.

Re: Automatic refresh of auto complete list

Hello,

we are updating the data directly in the master data table from the db.

The problem is,that the existing requests, where the auto-complete list field is filled with the data of the master data table, miss the update.

But when you open the auto complete list and change the entry and after it, select the old entry again, the update is shown.

But this is only a workaround...

Re: Automatic refresh of auto complete list

Hello,

sh kRunCacheManager.sh -A doesn't help

Same behaviour!

Re: Automatic refresh of auto complete list

Hi,
this is unfortunately by design, for all fields that are nut the standard fields, PPM saves the code value und the visible value. Standard fields like application or department are different, there only the code is saved and the visible values are taken from the lookup table on demand for display.
For a non standard field (parameterXX), if you change the visible values in its validation, exiting requests are not updated. You would have to that manually (eg with a procedure).
