Hi,
Does anyone know how to monitor a response time of nodes and collect it for
raporting? I need it to monitor a WAN delays.

Thx

Re: How to monior the response time of nodes

Do you have an agent (such as a Lanprobe) that you can use ? If so then you
can use Dist Net Analysis to do this - this is what I do for critical nodes.
Simply copy and paste the devices into Dist Net Analysis under the probe you
wish to use. You can then set a polling interval and use Internetwork Reporting
to generate reports on repsonse time and availability.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Have you tried the Empire SNMP Agents. Check http://www.empiretech.com

I had to do this and I ended up using ping in a perl script.

I stored the results in a flat text file and ftp'd the results to a central server.

Rather crude but it got the data. You could probably put the data into csv format using perl (or even shell) and import it into something like excell for reporting if you were realy keen!
