In order to see Node status change and received the incident when the failover occurred, you have to check the box "Affect Node Status" - to take the node status change and "Generate Incident" - to receive its indient.
Hope this help!

I am running into similar issue.. I am able to custom poll the failover information but its not creating incident. I do have "Generate Incident" checked under custom poller collection. I am having trouble setting up comparision map and that's where the issue is. Can anyone help with that?
try using MIB filter variable as your MIB expression. Also, have you configured comparision map? That should fix it. I am successfully able to create an alert in my NNM everytime failover occurs. Only problem is that It stays as critical until I manually suspend and re-acitvate my policy.
Create Custom Poller collection with Filter cfwHardwareInformation create Custom Poller MIB filter with Primary unit* Comparison maps: create a new condition to match "Standby unit" as critical and "Active unit" as normal Activate custom poller collection, and check custom polled instances Last status change value :-)
