Today we are thrilled to announce the launch of LoadRunner, Performance Center and Network Virtualization for LRPC software (v. 12.53). The new product version is packed with features to support testing in Agile and DevOps environments. You can interface with popular third-party solutions, and improve usability and efficiency of performance testing. These capabilities help enterprises accelerate their time-to-market and increase productivity.

Digital Transformation Fuels Innovation in Performance Testing

New technologies are emerging daily and are changing the way people and business customers consume content. Web sites are offering more media streaming than ever before and HPE’s LoadRunner and Performance Center v12.53 brings full support for audio and video streaming testing. This enables new capabilities for recording and replaying web HTTP/HTML and mobile scripts as well as new streaming metrics to help identify potential performance bottlenecks.

Digital technologies don’t stand still, and testing tools must continuously adapt to new protocols and environments. Version 12.53 includes a new protocol for supporting an additional virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) platform. Teradici has partnered with HPE to provide their PCoIP (PC over IP) protocol for LoadRunner and Performance Center.   • Bare metal or virtual machine deployments

Time to Market Pressures Dictate the Need to Simplify Testing

Modern application delivery methods such as Agile and DevOps are now mainstream. Analysts are tracking their adoption and making recommendations to enterprises on how to make the necessary cultural and process changes to achieve better customer experience while moving at the speed of business. This shift demands a new level of agility for the performance testing teams—and LoadRunner and Performance Center are keeping up with the need to simplify script and test creation process. Version 12.50 of LoadRunner and Performance Center introduced support for building scripts in native JavaScript in the VuGen, and version 12.53 includes additional features that make load testing easier.VuGen git integration.png

Having the right information about application performance and possible root cause of problems can help significantly accelerate the testing process. Version 12.53 delivers several new analytical features and reports, including:

  • Performance Center Usage and Admin Reports enhancements—Including intuitive web interface for viewing the Admin Dashboard and the ability to view and analyze data across projects.
  • Performance Center’s Usage Reports updates—with an easy-to-read format
  • Network Virtualization enhanced reports for LoadRunner and Performance Center—with the ability to analyze and compare application behavior over various network conditions

Including network conditions in your test for more accurate results: enhanced integration, better Insights

With HPE Network Virtualization capabilities, testers incorporate network factors into the lab environment and design tests with various network conditions. These networks conditions issues include high latency or those of a mobile user over 3G with a specific carrier. These impairments are applied to the network connections between the application and virtual users, creating a virtual network topology that emulates the production network.

Performance analysis of the transactions with these impairments identifies which components of the application and infrastructure are sensitive to network factors. The development team can then optimize application performance and determine the best deployment configuration.

This approach enables the testing of an entire business process using varied performance characteristics, such as peak load with high network latency, or a mixed scenario with both mobile and landline users.

Today with the new version 12.53, we are expanding the robust analytic capabilities in HPE Network Virtualization providing a better insight in deep-dive root cause analysis of performance bottlenecks:

  • NV Insights in Load Testing: run an aggregated report from LR/PC controller.
  • Added by NV Location graphs: online graphs in LR/PC controller and breakdown graphs in LR Analysis tool.
  • Enhanced and new NV Insights reporting capabilities: baseline Virtual User for benchmarking, script level transactions TRT with multi locations, resource level optimization, etc.

Continuous Integration and Testing Practices Help Enterprises Deliver Higher Quality Applications

Continuous integration, delivery and testing are not rigid methodologies. They are a set of cultural and practical changes that organizations choose to adopt to accelerate delivery of their products and services. LoadRunner and Performance Center continue to introduce new features and integrations to incorporate load and performance testing into Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing practices.

  • Version 12.53 introduces additional usability enhancements to Performance Application Lifecycle (PAL) 2.0 to enable teams to compare performance test results to real production data gathered from HPE Application Performance Monitoring products, Google Analytics, WebTrends, and IIS logs in order to create more realistic load test scenarios.
  • Performance Center 12.53 features strengthened integration with Jenkins, and now includes Trending – a feature to track changes between different load test runs. Trending information can now be viewed directly within Jenkins, giving you the metrics you need sooner without logging on to Performance Center.

Version 12.53 also includes a multitude of other changes and enhancements to VUGen and TruClient as well as additional protocol support. You can find a complete list of features here:
