HP Operations Analytics (OpsA) is a big data analytics solution that efficiently consolidates, manages, and analyzes massive streams of IT operational data collected from different sources. It applies powerful analytics--including the capabilities of an embedded HP Vertica database and HP ArcSight Logger, to store and analyze both structured and unstructured data. The result is a comprehensive view of topology, performance metrics, availability metrics, machine data, events and logs.

OpsA is made up of the following main components:

  • Operations Analytics Server Appliance - Provides the business logic and presentation capabilities of OpsA
  • Operations Analytics Collector Appliance - Connects to the different data sources and aggregates the data collected from them
  • HP Vertica Database - Supports the big data analysis requirements of OpsA
  • HP ArcSight Logger Server - Brings in log data

The OpsA Doc Team has created a short video to show you OpsA’s architecture and setup process. It provides a high level overview of how to install and establish communication among the major components.

You can watch the video below, or access it on YouTube here.
