The team has been working hard on SiteScope—an agentless application monitoring software that is easy to install, configure, and use, and that provides heterogeneous and hybrid support, plus quick time to value.
We made improvements with the user in mind. Today I want to take a closer look at these improvements and what they mean for you.
The Event Console is your central view for all notification messages about the performance and availability of your applications and servers. You can use the Live Events view to view, respond to, and search for events in real time on a day-to-day basis. You can use the Event History view or the event console log files, to see details of closed events.
Benefits of the Event Console include:
Consolidated event management: Provides improved user experience to administrators, monitoring teams, and application support teams, and accelerates their ability to manage, identify, and resolve issues by analyzing events from a single interface.
Enhanced visibility and organization of triggered events: Users can sort/filter by status, severity, and priority, enabling them to focus on only the events they need to see.
Displays all events: (good and bad) in a single view.
Displays event lifecycle status and resolution progress: This enables proper follow-up and escalation.
Displays information about historical (closed) events: Which is useful for tracking the resolution of previous issues, and identifying trends and hidden patterns.
Enables working side-by-side with Multi-View: Event-Monitor wiring provides ability to identify monitors and groups associated with the triggered event (and vice versa).
Fully supported on big and small screens: This makes it ideal for viewing events and monitor data in a network operations center. It is also supported on iPad and Android tablets.
HTML-based: Event Console is supported in various browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, and it runs without having to install Java.
New Unified Console
Added the Unified Console which includes Multi-View, Event Console, and Ops View (Multi-View and Event Console are displayed in a consolidated view). This simplifies the management of distributed environments, and assists users to manage, identify, and resolve issues.
Added the Microsoft Exchange Base monitor to display health and performance statistics of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and 2013. This monitor provides faster monitoring than the existing Microsoft Exchange Monitor, provides monitoring for both Client Access server and Mailbox server roles, and includes additional counters when used to monitor Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.
Added support for monitoring Amazon CloudWatch API version 2010-08-01 to the Amazon Web Services monitor.
Added support for monitoring JBoss EAP 6.1.x - 6.2.x, WebLogic Application Server 12c, and WildFly-8.0.0 to the JMX and Dynamic JMX monitors.
Added support for monitoring Sun Fire ILOM X64 servers using a Secure Shell (SSH).
Added support for monitoring VMware vSphere 5.5 to all VMware monitors and solution templates.
Added support for monitoring Red Hat Linux 5.10 and 6.5, and Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.5 to the UNIX Resources monitor.
Added support for monitoring Siebel Application Server 8.2 - 126.96.36.199 to the Siebel Application Server, Siebel Web Server, and Siebel Log monitors.
Added support for monitoring Apache 2.4 to the Apache Server monitor.

New Solution Templates
JBoss AS 7.1 - 7.3 Solution Template. Deploys a set of monitors configured with default metrics that test the health, availability, and performance of JBoss 7.1 - 7.3 application servers.
Microsoft Exchange 2013 Solution Templates. Deploys a set of monitors (based on Microsoft Best Practice) for monitoring the Client Access server and the Mailbox server role on Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.
Added POST data and other settings to the URL Tool, so that it has the same fields as the URL monitor.
Added the Health Map and Performance Statistics logs which provide easy access to SiteScope load and performance statistics without having to open the SiteScope user interface. This enables generating reports to show SiteScope performance over time and aggregating performance statistics over different time periods.
§ Added support for installing SiteScope on Red Hat ES/AS Linux 6.5, Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.2 - 6.5, and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2.

Installation and Configuration
We added the option to configure an HP Operations Agent installed separately from SiteScope. This enables using any certified version of the agent, instead of having to use the agent installed with SiteScope. The agent enables SiteScope to send events and act as a data storage for metrics data when SiteScope is integrated with an HP Operations Manager or BSM Gateway server.
