BSM 9.20: 4 key advances to monitoring IT service health in Cloud or Virtualized environments

Big news in the world of Business Service Management: Today we released details about a new version of BSM, with major updates across its suite of products, and powerful additions to the lineup that you can download and put into production right away.

Version 9.20 provides new ways for you to manage and optimize the health of business services, applications, infrastructure and networks from one console—all powered by meaningful intelligence and analytics to help you be more efficient and reduce down time.

There are four key advances you should know about:

opsanalytics.pngOperational Analytics (OpsAnalytics) - combines the correlation capabilities of HP Operations Manager i (OMi) with the universal log management power of Logger to give you intelligence that helps prevent or resolve any issue – known or unknown. With OpsAnalytics, you can accurately predict and prevent problems, as well as analyze and search massive amounts of data to quickly identify and diagnose issues.

It automates the correlation and analysis of consolidated operational big data, including machine data, logs, events, topology and performance information. Service Health Analyzer offers predictive analytics to forecast problems and prioritize issues based on business impact, so you can remediate known problems before they occur. You can also proactively address unknown issues and resolve incidents faster through historical analysis of prior similar events. Download the free version of Logger for OpsAnalytics today.

vpv.pngVirtualization Performance Viewer (vPV) - a lightweight triage tool that virtualization administrators and subject matter experts (vSME) can use to diagnose and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in virtualized environments. Supporting multiple hypervisor types including VMware and Microsoft, vPV provides highly visual treemaps view to help the brain quickly visualize performance bottleneck areas.

Easy to install and to get up and running within minutes, customers can download the free version of vPV to start using in production this virtual appliance to gain immediate value today.

omi.png360-degree visibility - HP BSM provides you 360 degree visibility across your end to end environment.

HP OMi aggregates data from multiple disparate sources including MS SCOM, IBM Tivoli and Nagios into a single pane of glass. A new, easy-to-use, customizable dashboard lets users view data that is relevant to them. Mobile access via new iOS or Android applications allows them access when on the go.

Event management capabilities such as event storm detection and event suppression eliminate noise so that you can focus on resolving the incident. Heat charts and over 200+ customizable, out of the box reports in HP Service Health Reporter (SHR) 9.21 provide performance data including network performance to give you deep insight into business service performance.

rum.pngSupport for heterogeneous environments - monitor across multiple hypervisor strategies, operating systems and applications. HP Real User Monitor (RUM) 9.21 provides insight into client-side performance issues of web and mobile applications. HP Diagnostics 9.21 drills down into the application stack to pinpoint performance bottlenecks in applications running in OpenStack and Python cloud environments. HP Service Health Optimizer provides data to better plan and optimize the capacity of your environment.
