FAQ(06): Resetting the SDM Catalog

SDM has been working for me in the past and nothing in my network environment has changed. If my catalog is corrupted, how can I reset SDM to force a catalog download?

Re: FAQ(06): Resetting the SDM Catalog

To force a catalog download, please delete the following files:

- ProductCatalog.xml
- ProductCatalog.xml.gz

- ProductCatalog.xml.zip

- ProductCatalog.zip
- ProductCatalogUpdate.xml

and the directory named

- ProductCatalog

from the appropriate folder listed below, according to your operating system

- Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 or Windows Vista
"C:\ProgramData\HP\HP SoftPaq Download Manager\"

- Windows XP
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\HP\HP SoftPaq Download Manager\"

NOTE: The folder names are provided in English and may vary according to the language of your OS. Please account for language differences.

NOTE: Any other files and subdirectories stored at the above directories are downloaded SoftPaqs for Personal and Update modes and other SDM settings.  If you'd like to take SDM to a state just after the initial installation, just delete the directory and all files under it.

These files are currently not in my folder. What can I do?
