After trying to locate docs here at HP or on The Google I figure I would ask here.
I had DP 6.0 rolled out. Upgraded the server to 7.0. A few months pass and now I have to get the clinets up to 7.x as well.
I tried upgrade-that failed. I tried removing and readding the clinet but it fails faster than I can put in a userid/password.
Yes, I can ssh to/from cell server to client. The hostname comes back as the FQN vis nslookup both from the server and the client.
I'd like docs or something to help me get this rolling. My Cell Manager is HP-UX 11.31. Clients are mostly all HP-UX as well. The IBM client systems installed no problem (go figure).
p.s. yes, I iwll keep digging as well.
Go to Solution.
OK... managed ot find the software and tried to roll it out.
All but the user interface failed:
[Critical] <sap-dg.ssmhc.com> User Interface for series hp/sia64/hp-ux-113x: require.dat file missing
[Warning] <sap-dg.ssmhc.com> Update of User Interface failed!
Ideas what that might mean?
Now I am closer. Can get everything BUT the userinterface installed. Can't do it remotely (see above error) and when I try locally I get:
(root@sapsndap)# mount sapbck:/omniback/software /tmp_mnt
(root@sapsndap)# ./omnisetup.sh -server sapbck.ssmhc.com -install cc
The omnisetup.sh script didn't finish last time
Client still has to be installed. (omnicf cc)
The omnisetup.sh script can now continue the unfinished installation
or it can ignore the saved state and start a new one.
If you choose to ignore, the script will erase the saved state
and will process only the command line options
Do you want to continue the unfinished installation? (Y/n)
Resuming (using possible CLI options)...
Data Protector version A.07.00 found
Client detected, installed packets: da sap
Setup cannot continue, please insert the media with HP-UX Installation Server
and run the installation script again, without options, it will continue.
Ignoring saved state...
So regaredless if I choose Y or N and/or try omnisetup after this the user interface will not install.
I would use the installation server (normally installed on the cell server too) to distribute the software to the clients. May be you can concentrate on that and we might help you with that to get it working?
I figured a way around it.
log on to the client and swremove the old DP
install the software locally
Go back to CM and it magically appears.
