Performance perspective not displaying data - related to vPV appliance?

Hi

Im trying to load a builtin omi 10.12 graph from performance perspective however i appear to be getting no data returned i get a connection error however i can get the data through our  HPPM server, the problem is we want to decom HPPM.

When i looked at d:\hpbsm\log\pmi\pmi.log i can see multiple mentions of the vpv appliance.

has anyone came across this?

Re: Performance perspective not displaying data - related to vPV appliance?

Hello Jamie,

I have seen issues related to the displaying of Performance Graphs within OMi when integrated with vPV.  There are many fixes that have been included within the latest version of CO as well as the OMi MP 1.25 for CO.

You do not mention what version of vPV appliance you are running.  As I'm sure you know, vPV is the old versioning reference and the new name is Cloud Optimizer or CO.

I would suggest that you upgrade to CO 3.02 that was recently released and then install the OMi MP 1.25 for CO on you OMi server and deploy the updated policies, etc.

If you continue to encounter issues after that, then I would suggest that you check and confirm that your DNS is configured correctly for the OMi, CO and OA servers.

I hope that this is helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Re: Performance perspective not displaying data - related to vPV appliance?

we are using 03.01.131 of the CO appliance, we dont have the latest MP installed. Ive opened a support call so hopefully we will hear back soon.

Re: Performance perspective not displaying data - related to vPV appliance?

Hello Jamie,

If you have a support case open, then I would suggest that you obtain hotfix CO_CHF_3.01.131_4 which addresses known issues with VMware data collection.  This would address issues with the performance data not being available within CO.  Two other hotfixes that should be considered are CO_PHF_3.01.131_3 and CO_CHF_3.01.131_5 which address "VMs are not accurately catalogued into Datacentre group" and "Datastore alerts are not getting mapped correctly" respectively.

All of the hotfixes, except for CO_CHF_3.01.131_5, exist in the released version of CO 3.02.004.

I hope that this information is helpful.

Regards,

Mark
