Greetings. Our Organization is using HP TRIM 7.0 with a contract support ending on 3/7/2017. As a Focal point I received an alert for end of support for HP TRIM 7.x and suggest to update to HPE Content Manager 9.0. What are the requirements and procedures to follow?
Hi, Welcome to the community, the process of upgrade is relatively straight forward subject to your technical and functional expertise and experiences. Overall process would be something like
- Quick assessment of TRIM usage and features in use, any current systems integration in place, current client sode OS and Office ( you would certainly be needing newer server OS like Windows server 2012 - 2016)
- Build a new UAT env on , bring your current data from TRIM7 and run required steps for schema upgrade, adjust new features (enable), Customise UI Ribbon based on usage.
- Conduct UAT thorough testing, and when all passed., Cut over the production data.
if you do have inhouse expertise and experiences, you can do it yourself. However having some external help on fixed price upgrade outcome (consultants with thorough expertise and experiences) can bring benefits in terms of reducing time and risks associated with the upgrade, you can also get some help in revising and modernising your TRIM7 dataset leveraging on modern techniques and features.
