No.  It's a different structure in the registry.  Mostly it's the difference in the software product name.  I use a batch file to export the existing registry, rename the keys, and the push them back out.  Worked like a charm.

Just another point 7.1 is about to go into obsolescence from the end of March.

Which links are you referring to?

Re: TRIM outlook links for TRIM Upgrade

I am referring to links created in Outlook while catalogueing emails.

So if a user has outlooks folders catalogued to TRIM client 6.2.5

after the upgrade to 7.1.2 will those outlook folders be intact linked with no user disturbance was my initial question.

No they won't. You'll also lose favorites.

Re: TRIM outlook links for TRIM Upgrade

So we need to caution users

they will loose their Favourites, Saved Searches and also all the links they had set up between Outlook and HP TRIM client on their end.

with 7.1.2 on their desktops, they loose all these and need to manually start again from start a fresh.

Re: TRIM outlook links for TRIM Upgrade

Unless you migrate all of this for them, yes it will be lost. As far as the favorites go... users can manually export them (either as a reference file or list) and add them back manually.

There are numerous posts on here discussing how you can do it for them automatically.
