Search to count all contents of a folder (including subfolders)

Is there a search that I can use that will count all the contents of a folder in TRIM including documents enclosed within subfolders?

The issue is that we have autopart rule in place that when a folder reaches 500 contents it close the folder and creates a new part.

TRIM doesn't count the contents of a subfolder as part of this auto part rule. Just wondering how others manage this?

Perhaps I should have auto part rule on subfolders as well?

thanks Erik

I forget about that string searching at times. Can be helpful. Now if autoparts could just use that search method.

Yeah I forget about it all the time... but learining to love it after figuring out how the darn thing works.  Now to figure out how to explain it to normal users! :)

There is also this thread that shows how to find all the documents within files that are related by a part search, so this should do your Auto part thingy
