Just recently upgraded our TRIM from 18.104.22.1686 to 22.214.171.1242
However we have just noticed an issue that when our admin staff need to print a report for a file onto a label the following occurs.
1. When they click file-Print Report, it takes a long time to open the print dialog box
2. When they go through the same tasks they did in 6.2.4 it sends to the printer and then the print has trouble with the labels.
There is nothing wrong with the printer as it was working before the upgrade. Printer also has no issues from other applications for printing to labels. Just a problem when trying to print a report from trim onto labels.
One extra thing, we have sorted out why its not printing reports on Labels but if anyone could describe why it takes so long to open the printing dialog box when a user clicks on file print report that would be helpful.
I saw this issue at a customer site who had a couple of corrupt report layouts. They deleted and recreated them and the delay in waiting for the Print Report window went away.
The way we identified the problem report layouts was to look at the workgroup server log at the time when a user did the Send To - Print Report operation. In that case there were some delays of up to 7 seconds between the GetReport statements in the WGS log (even though the statements themselves only took 20 ms or so to complete). This allowed us to identify the URI of the the report layouts causing the problem, then a simple query like SELECT rptName FROM TSREPORT where uri in (1083,1084) gave us the problem report names.
