How to prevent not registered users from logging in TRIM ?

Hi,

TRIM Client is installed on all workstations in my company.  However, not every staff is set up in TRIM (They don't need to use it).

Every morning, we get warning message like

"Error : 45 User: TRIM7Server - Workgroup Error. Connection to Dataset 'Production(45)' for 'PeterA' failed. The supplied login name has not been registered as a HP TRIM user and the guest account has not been registered.

We would like to ask

1) Since they don't use TRIM, why we get the error message every morning ?  Does TRIM Client contact Workgroup Server automatically?

2) Is there any way we can do (Like change of registry key) so that we don't get the warning message ?  The workstation may be used by other staff who will use TRIM.  I think it should be a change to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry.

Thanks

Do you have the Outlook Add-in or Office Add-ins enabled by default during installation?  If so, it may be trying to connect when those applications perform a function.  Check the HKLM\Software\Hewlett-Packard\HP TRIM\MSISettings registry key to see if these are enabled.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Do you mean the keys WORD_ON and EXCEL_ON ?  Both of them are with a value of NULL.

Besides, if we turn off the integration in HKLM, will it affect other users who have to use TRIM ?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yeah I meant those... and "TIO".  TIO is the outlook integration.  If the word and excel are null then those aren't enabled by default.  When they are enabled then TRIMAutoDeploy will turn them on when a user logs on.  Changing them only means it' won't be enabled for new users on the workstation (they can still manually turn them on or auto get global may enable).

Have you asked one of the users what they were doing at the time?  Do you have any other integrations?
