HPRM 8.01 7517

Hi,

We have just had the following crashes start to occur, after a number of months of testing.  Happening on multiple machines with mutliple users.  Cannot repliacte, occurs randomly.  Anyone had any simialr experiences or can provide advice.  Desktops running Win 7, issue has occured on both 32 and 64 bit clients.  Strange it only seems to be impacting one dataset at present, if select another dataset appears to work OK.  About to Go Live soon so bit of a concern with these types of issues occuring now.

Hi Jamie,

Do you have any information about when and how the crashes occur?

Are users experiencing the crash when using a certain module or feature? Perhaps it happens at a certain time of day?

Are there any additional errors in the application event logs?

Re: HPRM 8.01 7517

Greg,

No particular timing, it varies.  Soemtimes on start, sometimes after a couple of minutes.  Menu,s toolbars and graphics appear out of wack at times.  Get Global can cause it to happen, Get Global does some strange things at the best of times.

No other events in logs that would appear to be linked to issue.  Happens throughout the day.

This is the issue, not much to go on and no consistency to the error.

Re: HPRM 8.01 7517

Greg,

Did some more testing this morning and follow is what I found:

1. Can replicate the error by selecting Get Global - not everytime but just about

2. Happens with all users, even the service account

3. Happens on both desktops and server

Same module crashes everytime tsjbcg.dll.  Happens with both 32 and 64 bit clients

Thanks

Re: HPRM 8.01 7517

Greg,

Also upgrade client to Build 7760 to test if client issue.  Application does not crash but it also does not pick up Global settings.

Thanks

Re: HPRM 8.01 7517

Sounds a lot like this issue

QCCR2D53431 HP TRIM Client - Information Worker Profiles crashing after upgrading when Global settings have been updated.

Not too sure why it isn't picking up the Get Global, I am assuming that is you manually selecting Get Global?

Re: HPRM 8.01 7517

Greg thanks for the response.  Issue occurs with USer Profile set at Administrator or Records Manager (haven't checked at lower levels yet).

Get Global - yes doing manually and checked the Menu, Bar and Frames option.  If this option is not checked then no problems.

At present only experience issue on one particualr dataset.

Re: HPRM 8.01 7517

Silly question, but you have confirmed that your Global settings are configured on that dataset?

Re: HPRM 8.01 7517

Global settings is version dependent, they dont work across mixed builds very well.

Server would need to be upgraded to 7760 as well as the clients.
