Error previewing documents

Occasionally, performing certain tasks including viewing a preview for an electronic document, we run into this error:

Function request (Retrieve dataset rows (GetRecordset64)) for HP TRIM Workgroup Server '(servername)' failed.  Detected multiple threads accessing the same database object simultaneously.

Is there a typical cause for this error?  What would be the solution?

Hello Raynebc,

Is it possible to provide a little more information about your server tier and Database Tier? For example, SERVER OS? Bits? Database Server (Oracle or SQL), Version etc?

(I am guessing Oracle).. that would help anyone better answer your question.

Re: Error previewing documents

It might be that this is only occuring on version 7.x clients that are previewing documents in a 6.x dataset.  Eventually the condition resolves itself and the client is able to preview the image, but would this be something that would be expected to work at less than full capacity due to differences between the two versions?  Some loss of reliability or functionality has been stated to be expected, but is there a list of known features that are impaired?

No list.

It's not supported and therefore not tested either. So using mixed builds is unknown territory.
