I have a similar error with trim 7.1 when trying to create a new record, ie file --> new. If i drag/drop an electronic document into the pane the record creates. Its only when selecting file/new (or clicking the new button). I have uninstalled all previous versions of trim and reinstalled 7.1 and have the same error.
process monitor investigations indicate an issue with these files -> C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO
ie dao360.dll & dao350.dll
I logged a support call with HP but they didnt provide anything useful to date
I'm uninstalling misc programs now and will advise how it goes. I was able to correct this on a few machines but havent been able to pinpoint the root cause (or program)
Happy to provide the details of these particular defects in case that is what you are running in to:
The HP TRIM 7.1.0 1132 client will crash when editing older report layout designs. No crash dump is being generated.
1. Import one of the attached report layouts into 7.1.0 1132. 2. Edit one of the reports so that it opens in the Report Layout Designer. 3. Double-click one of the blue text fields, e.g. "K:\_Exec 2010-Do Not Delete\........................................\" 4. Client should crash immediately. Or upon trying to type in that field.
Problem was due to large amount of text in the text field. (Older report layouts supported a higher character count compared to the current release. Having too many characters causes the issue)
The other CR is a clone of this one, just for another build.
Gabe may not have been aware of the existing issue, but he will have access to see these CR's and their details.

Thanks for the quick response - looks like 4629581977 is still open
The original PC I logged the issue about I resolved (not exactly how) - but as I've mentioned I've got a number of other machines where I can replicate this. At present I'm still trying to figure out what the conflict is.
