DataPort in HP RM8.1.1.7760

Hi,

Win 7, MS Office 2010, SQL 2012, HP RM8.11.7760

Issue with dataport....

Trying to import 2 records in our Test database (used to work before the environment is rebuilt/reimaged)

What could be stopping us if this is the error:

Hey,

This part stands out:

"\\TRIMCOMPANYTEST\Dataportshare\0000000000000H\TSRECORD_17.dat" could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.).

Is that a valid address? And if so does the account have the correct permissions.

I went there via Win explorer and made txt file and modify it few times.

Might be worthwhile checking that your services account (TRIMservices) has full access as well.

Re: DataPort in HP RM8.1.1.7760

OK cheers.

Do the accounts also have permissions to update the database? Sorry if we are going over the same ground, just need to confirm.

Then normally I go back to the beginning with Dataport. Try exporting a couple of records\doucments and ensure that the fields match those that you are importing.

Check that you have the right version of the bulk loader installed.

Check the permissions on the accounts being used. They should be admins and have permission to update the DB.

Re: DataPort in HP RM8.1.1.7760

Where is \\TRIMCOMPANYTEST\Dataportshare\ located?  I have had trouble in the past with the server hosting the file share.  The theory goes that the import software (TrimPort/DataPort) needs to access the file share as well as the SQL server running the Bulk Insert.

The problem occurs when the SQL Server account cannot access the file share.  Hosting the file share on the SQL Server itself gives the most reliable results. Giving access to Everyone and work your way back.  This article has some more details and links on the security aspects.

Trying to give some Cudos but : Authentication failed for the action you are trying to do. This failure could be due to your browser not supporting JavaScript, JavaScript not being enabled, or trying to use the action URL directly in the browser address bar instead of clicking the link on the page.
