Possible to remove Self Service ?

Hi,
I have been using CCM for 2 days so this may be a very obvious question.

When the Management Agent is installed to the client, the Self Service application is also installed. Is it possible to have the agent install without this application ?
We are not in a position for self service type applications just yet, and if the icons there you can bet users are going to click on it.

I have read the manual and release notes but can not find any mention of turning this off.

Any one know if it is possible ?

Re: Possible to remove Self Service ?

CCM is a preconfigure OVCM environment with a subset of it's features and functionality.
The short answer is I don't beleive there is as it was not intended to operate that way.

Re: Possible to remove Self Service ?

Thanks for your answer.
I understand as a product the amount of customisation available is limited.

Does anyone know if it is even possible, to modify the deployed file so at least the shortcut is not created ?

Re: Possible to remove Self Service ?

Hi,
try to find \Novadigm\ManagementPortal\media\client\default\win32\install.ini
and add
NVDSHORTCUT=N

Re: Possible to remove Self Service ?

Just incase anyone else is looking to do this.
I have entered the following into the install.ini file under [properties]
NVDSHORTCUT=N
NVDENABLESHORTCUT=N
NVDSTARTMENUICON=N
NVDRAMSTARTMENUSHORTCUT=N
NVDRAMSHORTCUT=N

I now have no shortcut or startmenu items appearing for Self service manager. So the end user does not see them on their desktop. I just need to workout if the system tray icon can be hidden.

Re: Possible to remove Self Service ?

Look for NVDRADTRAYSTART
With CCM I'm not sure if you can control ind, ask,rtimeout and hreboot parameters.

Re: Possible to remove Self Service ?

Hi,

You can use ind=n in radskman command or the timer syntax to hide from sys tray.

also comment NVDRADTRAYSTART=Y.

Thanks
