This may be a very basic question, but Portal installs with the Core. The default Zone is HP. Following the Portal Installation and Configuration Guide it walks through installing portal to the \Hewlett-PPAckard\CM\ManagementPortal directory. One, How do you change the Default Zone of HP during the Core installation? Two, When attempting to Install Portal it continues to error at 95% stating the service is already installed. Which it is becaused it installed with the Core?
1. I am not sure if you can edit the zone name during installation. However after the installation from the portal directory access the rmp.cfg file and we can see the zone name parameter and we can edit it to the name of your choice.
2. Your observation is correct. In CAE 7.2 you dont need to go for a separate installation of the components. Most of the componenets are installed during the core server installation. You just need to enable them to work with.
You should not be changing the default ZONE name from HP. This is not supported.
There is a reference to this in the Getting started Guide on p86... "Installing a Core server and leaving the OS Manager service disabled (the default). Also leave the default Core server name (zone) of HP."
Thank You both for responding. Again, basic question. When would the Portal install be used. For an Administrative desktop? The Portal install guide for 7.2 does reference changing the Zone name. When running the install it does allow you to change the Zone name.
