Error Installing Patch MS06-078

When trying to deploy this patch, all of the systems display the following status comments...

"Error in WUA install: The data is invalid."

Does anybody know what needs to be done in order to resolve this?

Re: Error Installing Patch MS06-078

Have you tried removing your existing MS06-078 that may exists in the custom section and do force re-acquire on it.
I think you have an old invalid version and an reacquire should pull in the correct version.

Re: Error Installing Patch MS06-078

I just acquired this patch last Wednesday, do you think that the download of this patch is corrupted and that is why it's failing? If so, how do I go about removing and then reacquiring a patch from MS?

Re: Error Installing Patch MS06-078

Here are some steps as nicely shown by another regular on the forums.

1. Delete all files and folders inside the folder called MS* (for example MS04-01). I keep the folder MS* empty.

2. Run a new acquisition. The acquisition settings that I configure are:

Mode: Both
Force: Yes
Replace: Yes

The patch is downloaded again.

Re: Error Installing Patch MS06-078

How do I set these options for the acquisition job? I'm using HP OpenView Client Configuration Manager... through the web-based interface for creating an acquisition job these options are not available. Is there some file that I have to manaully edit?
