Difference between Infrastructure Server and Proxy Server

Hi there,

I'm trying out my hands on CAS 7.2 but first of all, I would like to find out the difference between Infrastructure Server in CAS and Proxy Server in CAE. Can we have the Infrastructure Server sitting on a workstation instead of a server? Thank you for answering my question!

Regards,
Kevin

Re: Difference between Infrastructure Server and Proxy Server

Kevin,

There the same! Infrastructure server is just the CAS name for a proxy server.

In the CAS release notes it's doesn't make any distction between CAS Server and Infra Server, but in the CAE release notes it does state that Proxy server is supported on WinXP so i would suggest that you can install Infra server on XP. If you're really intent on doing this i suggest you open a ticket with HP Support to get the official answer.

Karl.

HP Support has confirmed that Infrastructure Server sits on Windows XP SP2 as well. Thanks!
