VM Explorer v6.1 Release Announcement

VM Explorer v6.1.5 Release Announcement

Welcome to Part 1 in this blog series, an Introduction to HPE VM Explorer. HPE VM Explorer became a part of HPE’s data protection family through the acquisition of Trilead. It is a robust and easy to use backup and recovery solution for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments; you get advanced features at a cost-effective price.

VM Explorer compliments HPE's existing portfolio, including server protection, end-point data protection archiving, and information governance solutions.

This blog series will explore (pardon the pun) HPE VM Explorer’s features and benefits in more detail.

Throughout the following weeks you’ll learn how to:

  • Quickly install the product
  • Back up to local / NAS storage, including HPE’s own StoreOnce VSA deduplication appliance
  • Back up to the Cloud (Amazon S3, OpenStack, Rackspace or HPE Helion)
  • Configure tape / VTL support
  • Take advantage of Instant VM Recovery
  • Implement replication for disaster recovery
  • Automate backup tests, with health status and screenshot verification
  • ….and a whole lot more!

Sounds technical, but don’t worry! We’ll keep the blog series easy to read and accompanying video tutorials will make it even easier to follow along.

Here is a quick introduction video to whet your appetite:

So stay tuned, keep checking back here for updates over the coming weeks and I look forward to you following along and learning together about our new easy-to-use, low-cost VM protection product.
