Re: MS SQL Database cluster - BAM

Your questions have little to do with BSM and are purely MSSQL related, so you'd better ask them in some SQL Server forum.

Re: MS SQL Database cluster - BAM

I exepct BSM database guide should explain this

AS it is nicely explained for Oracle RAC than why not for MS MSQL ?

Re: MS SQL Database cluster - BAM

1. MSSQL clustering gets officially supported only in the recently released BSM 9.22.

2. BSM 9.22 Database guide clearly says about SQL Server clustering:

Failover clustering is supported with all BSM databases. To configure failover clustering

with BSM, in the Setup and Database Configuration Utility enter the cluster server name as

the host name. No extra configuration is required.

So as far as BSM is concerned, configuration of MSSQL clustering support is not that complex as configuration of Oracle RAC support.

Re: MS SQL Database cluster - BAM

There was no official support, but there were customers using it anyway and it worked. Simply because for BSM it's transparent how exactly the underlying SQL Server architecture is implemented - single node or cluster.
